This is the first annual barn yard Olympics. This is a fun event for all ages and is open to the entire community. Pre-registration is suggested, as events may fill up quickly, but some same day registration may be available. Winners in each category will receive a prize.
Registration: To register, complete the form below and return it to the Grant Christian School office (12391 Poplar Ave, Grant MI). Please list the events you intend to participate in. One registration form is required for each participant.Registration Form- Barnyard Olympics 2018

Barn yard Olympics event descriptions, start times, and age/grade groups
Game area for the littlest kids- older kids can participate too, but this area is intended for the kids who are too young for the other events. No registration is required for the game area.
*If you have a younger child who would like to try an event and there is not an age category for them, they can still sign up. We will put them with the closest age/grade group
9:00 Bale Toss: Come test your strength and see how far you can toss the hay bale. Winner is the individual who can toss it the furthest.
Categories: Men, Women, Kids ( 4th-6th grade and 7th-9th grade divisions)
9:30 Lasso Throw: Toss the lasso over a stationary object.
Categories: Adults, Kids ( K-2, 3-5 grades, older grades can compete at adult level)
10:00 Sprint to stop the cows: This is a simple foot race (50yd dash)
Categories: Men, Women, Kids ( pre-K-K, 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 grades)
10:30 Nerf Gun Vermin Shooting: You can’t allow the vermin to destroy your crops. Use the nerf gun to stop them. Winner knocks down the most targets
Categories: Adults, kids (pre-k-K, 1-3, 4-6, 7-9 grades)
11:00 Wheelbarrow race: Grab a partner and try your hand at the old fashioned wheelbarrow race. You decide who is the wheelbarrow and who is the driver. Winners are the first team to successfully cross the finish line. Participants must maintain their wheelbarrow status for the entire race.

11:30 Piggyback race: Find a partner and prepare to race while one of you is the racer and the other is the rider. Be prepared, you may need to go through obstacles.
Categories: Adults, Kids( 3-5 , 6-8 grades)
12:00 Obstacle course: A timed event over, around, through… Winner has the fastest time. Event may contain hurdles, balance beam, bear crawl etc.
Categories: Men, Women, Kids ( prek-K, 1-3, 4-6, 7-9)
Scavenger Hunt: You may enter as an individual or team. This event will be ongoing during the entire barnyard Olympics event. Various items will be positioned around the nature trail. The winning team will correctly identify the most items. Entrants will receive a sheet of paper to label items. Entrants will also be timed. In the event that multiple entrants find all items, the entrant with the fastest completion time will be the winner.
