This event takes you through Michigan's beautiful Manistee National Forest's scenic North Country Trail! \nThere are plenty of hills for the masochists who love them\, but not so many that it's silly. The footing is usually excellent\, but there are areas where your ankles will thank you for slowing down and watch for roots. Patches of sand will slow things down\, but much of the course is pleasantly-packed dirt. However\, THIS IS NOT A ROAD RACE. The terrain will be challenging\, and may be very challenging if the weather has been unusually dry. \n\n\n\nAll pre-registered runners/walkers will receive a long sleeve tec shirt\, a bling blag packed full of great give-a-ways and a token for a free drink of choice at the End of the Trail Beer Tent! The White Cloud Rotary Recovery Corner is stocked with fresh fruits\, water and snacks. Bring the family and spend the day (at the Newaygo County White Cloud Campground we have showers and a place to change) with kids games\, wagon rides\, vendors\, live music there is something for all ages! Sign up for the 2nd Annual White River Kayak Paddle Race Sponsored by Houseman's Foods. The White River is a small river with a BIG personality. This section of the White River is sometimes shallow\, has some quick turns\, feisty rapids with rocky runs and low hanging limbs. It is best taken by experienced paddlers in maneuverable kayaks. \n\n\n\nThe run from Raceway Park to Flowing Wells Park is approximately 3 miles and usually takes about an hour to an hour and a half depending on water flow leaving plenty of time for dual event participation. \n\n\n\nFor a schedule of all Trail Town Celebration happenings click here!
