Area merchants have special sales and goodies for you while you are checking out the stores. Don't forget to visit the events at the local churches\, they have food and activities for the entire family. \n\n\n\nAttendance: 4\,700 guests (2024)\nThe Golden Carol Choir Competition:\n\nWe're trying something new with our 1st Choir Competition. If you're interested\, please use the green icon to register your team. \n\nTime: 6:30 PM\n\nLocation: Outdoors at the Pocket Park\n\nWho can enter?\n\n\n School choirs\n Church choirs\n Community groups\n Businesses/organizations that want to put together a group\n Free to enter\n\n\nCompetition Format\n\n\n Each choir gets 5 7 minutes to perform.\n Perform 1 2 Christmas songs\n At least one song should be Christmas/holiday themed\n A cappella or backing track allowed\n Keep setup minimal. No lengthy equipment changes\n Groups check in 15 20 minutes before the competition\n Performance order can be randomly drawn ahead of time\n\n\nSimple Judging - 100 points\n\n\n Vocal Performance 40 points: harmony\, pitch\, overall sound\n Christmas Spirit 25 points: festive energy and enthusiasm\n Stage Presence 20 points: audience engagement and confidence\n Creativity 15 points: song choice\, arrangement\, costumes\, choreography\, etc.\n\n\nEach of the 3 judges scores independently. Add the scores together\, and the highest total wins.\n\nWinner will be announced immediately after the final performance. Winner receives the Golden Carol Champion Trophy and bragging rights for the year.\n\nWeather:\n\nCompetition continues in light snow\, but severe weather may cause cancellation or relocation.\n\n\n \n\nVendor Registration Information:\n\nAll Vendors must have prior approval from the Chamber before registration. \n\n \n\n\n Vendor Space is limited!\n This is an outdoor event. \n No water available.\n Generator needed (food trucks)\n Must bring your own tent/table/chairs. \n Lighting has been upgraded along sidewalk!\n\n\n Please review our Food Truck Policy Here\n\n.\n\n\n Road closes at 6:00. After you've checked in at The Stream with River Country Chamber\, you will get a map of where you will be set up. (check in location may change)\n Food Trucks - we are working on a location\n We will stage all vendors at specified location (tbd) and drive to space together. \n The event ends at 9pm and the road reopens as quickly as it safely can. \n Vehicles\, including food trucks\, may not leave their designated spaces until the road is officially opened by the City of Newaygo's Police Department.
