Because the Grant Police Department and the White Cloud Police Department share Chief Patterson and officers\, his passing is felt not only in Grant\, but also in White Cloud and throughout all of Newaygo County.\n\nWe appreciate your understanding and support as we join together in honoring Officer Morsaw and the service given to our communities.\n\n\n\n\n\nTake 2! This makes lines go smoother and cuts down on those pesky credit card fees! Independent Bank in White Cloud has a drive through accessible ATM for your convenience. We will have the ability to accept credit cards on site if needed. \n\n How high do the passengers in the balloon go?\n\n\nThe height is dependent on wind speeds. Wind speed will determine how high pilots can safely operate the balloon. Generally they are operating in the range of 70-100 feet. If it is windy that could be lessened. \n\n How many guests can go in the basket?\n\nThat is determined by weight. Weight limit is maxed out about 700 lbs on average. This year we do have a larger balloon being used that can hold a bit more. & is handicap accessible! This is also not a fixed number because it depends on outside temperature and other atmospheric conditions.\n\n Is there an age limit?\n\nNo\, but each guest is required to sign a waiver. \n\n How long is each ride?\n\nRide length can be varied. The longer the ride\, the less passengers per hour get flown. So it's really a balance based on the demand. Most often the time in the air is 2-3 minutes. That gives the passengers time to experience and gather any photos or videos they may want.\n\n Why tethered and not a normal ride?\n\nThe truth - hot air balloon rides are a huge expense! This is our way to bring an experience that many may not typically get due to the cost. \n\n How do we sign up for a ride?\n\nRegistration opens at 5:30pm day of the event. You will have to sign a waiver\, get weighed and the pilot will go over the basics with you. We will stop taking registrations about 8:30pm so everyone has time to go on the ride before the balloons are done at a safe time. \n\n Fast Pass\n\nIf you see someone skipping ahead in line\, don't worry! They're not cutting they're floating on a promise. Last year\, some guests waited but missed their chance to ride because of wind\, time\, etc. To make it right\, they earned a special Fast Pass for 2025.\n\n\nSo if you spot a balloon buddy zipping past\, give them a wave. They've been waiting over a whole year for liftoff! (Those registered Fast Pass users should check their email. We'll have our list on site\, too!)\n\n(Fast Passes are also a Sponsorship Benefit)\n\n\n IMPORTANT!\n\nThe aspects of balloon flights and tethers are impacted by variables that are hard to predict.
