    NCDCC is seeking a qualified, hard-working and motivated individual to fill our Lead GSRP Preschool Teacher position.  NCDCC is a sub-recipient of Michigan Department of Education Great Start Readiness Program funding with NCRESA, Newaygo County Regional Educational Services Agency serving as fiduciary and providing monitoring and program oversight.  

    This position requires  

    A valid Michigan teaching certificate with an early childhood (ZA) endorsement; or

    A bachelor’s degree in Child Development or Early Childhood Education with specialization in preschool teaching.  The transcript will document a major, rather than a minor, in child development or early childhood education; and

    A Comprehensive Background check and fingerprinting for criminal offenses and child abuse/neglect as required by the State of Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs .

    A candidate with an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child Development will be considered for this position pending signature of a compliance plan to complete a Bachelor's program.

    The person in this position is responsible for:

    Collaborating in the implementation of the Great Start Readiness Program.

    Planning, posting, and implementing daily and weekly lesson plans for preschoolers, utilizing the Creative Curriculum and Teaching Strategies GOLD. 

    Learning NCDCC program protocols, CLASS monitoring system, and Great Start to Quality tiered quality rating system to manage and maintain a high-quality preschool classroom.

    Assuming and maintaining responsibility for the children in the classroom, on the playground, and on field trips. 

    Communicating with the children at their level, participating in their structured activities; guiding children in the development and use of appropriate language, cognitive and social/emotional skills.

    Exhibiting good classroom management techniques utilizing positive guidance methods.

    Organizing and implementing home visits and parent/teacher conferences to the families of enrolled children. 

    Supervising Assistant Teachers, Classroom Aides, volunteers and interns. 

    Co-hosting Parent Meetings.

    Participating in conferences, workshops, staff in-service trainings, and continuing education, as required.


    Preschool/Great Start Readiness Program Experience Preferred.
