Memorial Day Weekend Celebration- Postponed due to Stay Home, Stay Safe Executive Order by Governor Whitmer.
River Country Chamber of Commerce of Newaygo County announced today that the City of Newaygo Memorial Day Weekend Celebration has been postponed to the 4th of July weekend.  Additional Chamber events, including the Home, Health and Garden Show and Golf Outing, have also been postponed further details regarding events will be coming soon.
"With heavy hearts, the decision has been made to postpone the Memorial Weekend Festival craft show for the weekend of May 22-24th hosted by the River Country Chamber of Commerce." stated Chamber Executive Director Colleen Lynema. "The safety and health of our entire community, guests, volunteers, vendors and staff is our first priority and always top of mind when making our decisions.   We did not make this decision lightly, taking in to account not only the time and effort that goes into planning this event, but also the impact on the economy of our area.   However, under Governor Whitmer's Stay Home Stay Safe order still in effect, we are unable to legally gather and celebrate the official start to the Newaygo County Summer Season."

Additional planning is proceeding in concert with the Newaygo County Health Department, the Newaygo Police Department, Newaygo County Emergency Services and the City of Newaygo to create an event for the date(s) of July 3-5th.
