Ballet Folklorico at the Dogwood Center

Ballet Folklorico will perform at the Dogwood Center on April 17 at 7:30 p.m.  The Ballet Folklorico “Quetzalli ” (kets-AH-lee) de Veracruz is a very special group of young people who enjoy the traditions and cultures of their native country, Mexico. In particular, they enjoy performing the traditional music and dances of their home, Veracruz. The company is made up of more than 30 young singers, dancers and musicians, who perform this beautiful art for people all over the world, including in Japan, Europe, Mexico and the United States.

Founded in 1985 by Maestro Hugo Betancourt, Ballet Folklorico “Quetzalli” makes its home in the state capital, Xalapa, Veracruz. They have toured internationally performing traditional folkloric dances, as well as their Afro-Caribbean spectacular, “Carnaval Veracruzano”. The company has been the official representatives for Secretary of Tourism and Economic Development for the State of Veracruz since 1986 having given hundreds of performances across Mexico and the United States, South America, Asia, Europe and the Caribbean.

Tickets are $17.50 for adults, $10 for kids 18 and under. Main Stage. Reserved seating. 7:30 p.m.
