Wednesday, December 4, children from Newaygo will journey down the hill from the school to decorate The Tree of Lights. Handmade ornaments are hung on The Tree of Lights while Santa greets the young decorators. The look of wonder and amazement in children’s eyes is priceless.
Thursday, December 5, is
The Season of Hope Charity Auction. The Season of Hope Charity Auction is an elegant evening of great fun and fund raising for the benefit of Love INC. and the River Country Chamber. Many wonderful auction items will be available for you to bid on. The food and beverages are catered by the Gala Gourmet. This event is the best way to begin your Holiday Season. The event begins at 6 pm and is held at Loomis Lodge, tickets are $30.00 and are
available on line or by calling the Chamber Office at 231-652-3068 This event sold out last year, so get your tickets early to enjoy the fun.
Friday December 6, is the
Christmas Walk in Newaygo. This unique hometown experience is like no other with twinkling lights, horse drawn wagon rides, the smell of fresh roasted chestnuts and the sounds of Christmas Carols make this an experience you will not want to miss. You can enter the Santa Sock contest at The New Ewe, visit the “Let it Snow Art Exhibition on display the Stream and the merchants have special sales and goodies for you while you are checking out the stores. Don’t forget to visit the events at the local churches, they have food and activities for the entire family. The community is invited to come and sing Christmas carols in Brooks Park at 9 pm. This is a candle light gathering around the Christmas Warming Fire. So, come and join us at 6 pm for the opening ceremony and then hit the town for all the fun.

Saturday, December 7, Ho Ho Ho, it’s
The ChoiceOne Bank Saint Nick Kick you know. The 10k/5k race will begin at 10 am in front of /Shopko near Plumbs. This is a fun race and the proceeds benefiting the Cross Country Team and Track Team of Newaygo Public Schools. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be at the race under the warming tent and can’t wait to see the kids. Race timing for the event will be provided by Spectrum Health/Tamarac. A free Santa hat and race shirt is provided to registered racers. Registration is available on line at
newaygonaturally.com. Dress-up, come join the fun and cheer on the racers.
Sunday, December 8, let the music of Christmas fill your heart with music from The Newaygo Community Christmas Choir. The concert will be performed at the Grant Fine Arts Center at 6 pm and you will be treated to an inspirational evening of Christmas music showcasing the talents of local musicians.
