A mid-summer celebration of Newaygo's Great Outdoors, Bands, Beer & BBQ!
There is something for everyone during this two day event packed weekend. The best section of the mighty Muskegon River comes alive with a vibrant combination of family and competitive paddle sports hosted by Newaygo Nationals.
New this year Brews, Bands & BBQ;
Friday, August 9 - Downtown Newaygo, Brooks Park
will play host to an afternoon and evening of BBQ, live music, and beer. Access to the beer tent is FREE with a valid drivers license and is open FRIDAY ONLY; opens at Noon in Brooks Park.
Bring your chairs, blankets, family and friends to enjoy the sounds of Serita's Black Rose and Southbound. Music starts at 3:00 pm on the Main Stage in Brooks Park.
Serita's Black Rose is blues pumped up with equal amount of funk, soul and rock with a passion and love that translates in everything she does. Southbound is a Mid-Michigan band that plays a mixture of Southern/Classic Rock, Blues & Country. If you're looking for a family friendly show that will get you on your feet, they are the guys to do it!
NO CHARGE to get in the gate so bring your family and friends and enjoy and great afternoon and evening in downtown Newaygo.
The Dam Good BBQ Competition features a KCBS Sanctioned Competition as well as an Amateur Competition Sponsored by: Jimmy's Roadhouse & Smart Energy Solutions
The Amateur Competition will take place in Brooks park on Friday with judging starting at 6:00 pm. Click here for a current list of teams. So Amateur or KCBS get your best BBQ ready and sign up today.
On line registration is available for both the KCBS Competition and Amateur Competition.
Applications are also available at Jimmy's Roadhouse, Smart Energy Solutions and the Chamber of Commerce Office.
Regardless of your level of BBQ mastery there is something for you. Prize payouts total over $8000.00 for these combined events so let's see what you've got!
