River Country is more than a name.
It reflects the way of life in Newaygo County.
Defined by multiple rivers, iconic dams, and dozens of lakes, water shapes how we live, work, and do business here. These natural assets are part of everyday life, not just weekend recreation. They influence our economy, our communities, and our identity as a place where opportunity and quality of life go hand in hand.
The River Country Chamber of Commerce serves and collaborates with the communities of Newaygo, Grant, White Cloud, Croton-Hardy, and Fremont. Together, these communities form a connected region where businesses, residents, and visitors are united by shared natural resources and a strong sense of place.
Our rivers and lakes attract visitors from across the region and beyond, while also drawing entrepreneurs, workers, and families who choose to build their lives here. The presence of major dams has shaped our history, infrastructure, and economic development, creating both opportunity and responsibility that continues today.
The Chamber works to connect members, advocate for business-friendly policies, and promote River Country as a place to live, work, visit, and invest. We believe the rivers, dams, and lakes that define Newaygo County are not simply amenities, but a foundation for long term economic vitality and community strength.
In River Country, the water connects us all.
