in 2025, Bellwether Harbor Animal Shelter, a public animal shelter in Fremont, MI received $10,981.10 from the auction thanks to our generous supports, guests and bidders! The River Country Chamber of Commerce of Newaygo County cordially invites you to an elegant evening filled with laughter, while also giving back to our community. This year's event will be held on Thursday, November 5th. Check out the theme details below!
This evening is not only an opportunity to give back but also a chance to network with community leaders, business owners, and fellow philanthropists. It is a night of celebration, where we come together to make a difference and bring hope to those in need. We hope that you will join us for this special evening and help us make a positive impact in our community. Please RSVP by October 22nd to secure your spot. We look forward to seeing you there!
Our recipient this year is Disability Network West Michigan, an organization that equips, educates and advocates for accessible communities for all. Their goal from this event's efforts is that local businesses they partner with will see an increase in patronage and that the programs and events will become annual outings for the community members.
Events will be open to all Newaygo County residents and their friends and families, including those with and without disabilities. With a bit of thought and effort during the early stages of event planning, Newaygo can be the go-to destination for ALL recreation. Here are examples of the activities you can expect to see :-
Kayak/Canoe/Tubing Event launching from the Bridgeton Township Park, which features an accessible kayak launch
-
Fishing Event to showcase accessible fishing venues and equipment, how "team fishing" adds accessibility AND fun
-
Community Picnic with outdoor games and a "tech petting zoo" that showcases adaptive (and just plain good!) technology
-
Indoor Sports Sampler hosted by gold medal winners from the Michigan Victory Games
-
Community-wide Unified Pickleball Tournament, bringing together teams that include both individuals with and without disabilities on the same team, competing for the 2026 inaugural Newaygo Unified Pickleball Tournament trophy!
