    Job Description:
    The Hope Project is partnering with Bethany Christian Services to operate a
    healing home specifically for girls, 11-17 who have survived sex trafficking.
    This position requires a responsible and compassionate individual with leadership
    qualities. She is expected to live in a home, owned by The Hope Project, and be
    trained and licensed as a group home parent through Bethany Christian
    Services.
    She will have the ability to provide guidance, leadership, accountability and
    stability with youth and other support staff. She will work closely with case
    workers from Bethany Christian Services and The Hope Project staff.
    Responsibilities include supervision, guidance, encouragement, and discipline of
    youth living in The Hope Project group home. The individual will demonstrate the
    ability to develop spiritual growth, lovingly correct attitudes, plan leisure time
    activities, cook meals, teach personal hygiene and basic life skills, as well as
    provide transportation to therapy, other services, and school.
    The position requires the ability to closely monitor activities of several youth in a

    split level 4-bedroom home. The House Mother’s primary responsibility is the day-
    to-day care and daily tasks of youth while adhering to the program and policies

    of The Hope Project.
    Respite will also be available monthly.

    Qualifications:
    • Commitment to The Hope Project’s mission and core values
    • Understanding of sex trafficking, trauma, and what makes someone
    vulnerable
    • Abide by all policies and procedures
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously
    • Ability to lovingly nurture the spiritual, emotional, and physical growth of
    youth
    • Ability to maintain a clean home
    • Basic computer knowledge
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Able to confront and address negative behavior in youth and/or staff
    • Must be a team player who is flexible and able to use sound judgment on
    a consistent basis
    • A calm demeanor and ability to make sound decisions in the difficult
    situations that arise in an environment serving youth
    • Must have a valid driver's license
    • Must be able to pass national background check & driving record check
    • Experience working in a group home setting serving youth preferred

    We provide individual therapy, group therapy, support groups, recovery
    coaching, recovery groups, mentoring, case management, extra support and
    resources to survivors of sex trafficking and vulnerable youth starting at age 11
    years old. In addition, The Hope Project has opened Rays of Hope, a healing
    home for women who have survived sex trafficking and is working towards
    opening a home for children. The Hope Project is located in Muskegon, MI but
    also has a satellite office in Newaygo County (White Cloud) and works closely
    with the Newaygo Co. Human Trafficking Task Force. The Hope Project co-chairs
    the Lakeshore Human Trafficking Task Force which provides a comprehensive
    response to human trafficking in West Michigan.
