"Police Week Newaygo" May 11-17, 2025  Resolution adopted by the City of Newaygo City Council on May 13, 2019, declares every calendar week in which May 15th falls as "Police Week Newaygo"  In 1962, President John F. Kennedy proclaimed May 15thas National Peace Officer Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15thfalls as National Police Week. National Policy Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection
