This unique hometown experience is like no other with twinkling lights, horse drawn wagon rides, the smell of fresh roasted chestnuts and the sounds of Christmas Carols make this an experience you will not want to miss. Area merchants have special sales and goodies for you while you are checking out the stores. Don't forget to visit the events at the local churches, they have food and activities for the entire family.

- School choirs
- Church choirs
- Community groups
- Businesses/organizations that want to put together a group
- Free to enter
Competition Format
- Each choir gets 5–7 minutes to perform.
- Perform 1–2 Christmas songs
- At least one song should be Christmas/holiday themed
- A cappella or backing track allowed
- Keep setup minimal. No lengthy equipment changes
- Groups check in 15–20 minutes before the competition
- Performance order can be randomly drawn ahead of time
Simple Judging - 100 points
- Vocal Performance – 40 points: harmony, pitch, overall sound
- Christmas Spirit – 25 points: festive energy and enthusiasm
- Stage Presence – 20 points: audience engagement and confidence
- Creativity – 15 points: song choice, arrangement, costumes, choreography, etc.
Each of the 3 judges scores independently. Add the scores together, and the highest total wins.
Winner will be announced immediately after the final performance. Winner receives the Golden Carol Champion Trophy and bragging rights for the year.Weather:
Competition continues in light snow, but severe weather may cause cancellation or relocation.Vendor Registration Information:All Vendors must have prior approval from the Chamber before registration.- Vendor Space is limited!
- This is an outdoor event.
- No water available.
- Generator needed (food trucks)
- Must bring your own tent/table/chairs.
- Lighting has been upgraded along sidewalk!
- Road closes at 6:00. After you've checked in at The Stream with River Country Chamber, you will get a map of where you will be set up. (check in location may change)
- Food Trucks - we are working on a location
- We will stage all vendors at specified location (tbd) and drive to space together.
- The event ends at 9pm and the road reopens as quickly as it safely can.
- Vehicles, including food trucks, may not leave their designated spaces until the road is officially opened by the City of Newaygo's Police Department. You must stay parked until then.
