    The High School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality, standards-based instruction that builds students’ understanding of mathematical concepts, reasoning, and problem-solving skills in grades 9–12. The teacher helps students develop confidence and competence in applying mathematics to academic work and real-world situations.
     
    Essential Responsibilities

    • Plan, prepare, and deliver standards-based instruction aligned with district and state requirements
    • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse academic, social, and emotional needs of students
    • Assess student learning through a variety of formal and informal methods and use data to guide instruction
    • Provide timely, meaningful feedback to students and communicate progress to families as needed
    • Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
    • Implement effective classroom management strategies that promote respect, responsibility, and engagement
    • Collaborate with colleagues to support instructional planning and student success
    • Integrate technology and instructional resources to enhance teaching and learning
    • Participate in staff meetings, professional development, and school improvement initiatives
    • Support school-wide programs, events, and extracurricular activities as appropriate
     
    Qualifications
    • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate secondary endorsement(s)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Education or content-related field
    • Strong knowledge of subject area content and instructional best practices
    • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with students, families, and staff
    • Previous experience with math instruction preferred.
    • Must meet NCLB Highly Qualified Requirements.
    • Possess knowledge of differentiated instruction practices and strategies.
    • Possess strong classroom management skills.
    • Possess extensive knowledge in technology, use of technology in the classroom and the ability to incorporate technology in the curriculum.
