    The High School Science Teacher is responsible for delivering rigorous, engaging, and standards-based science instruction that promotes critical thinking, problem-solving, inquiry, and scientific literacy among students in grades 9–12. The teacher creates a positive and supportive learning environment that encourages curiosity, collaboration, and academic growth while preparing students for college, careers, and lifelong learning.
    Essential Responsibilities

    • Plan and deliver engaging, standards-based science instruction for high school students
    • Develop lessons and laboratory experiences that promote inquiry, analysis, and critical thinking
    • Create a safe and positive classroom and laboratory environment
    • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse student learning needs
    • Assess student progress and provide timely feedback to students and families
    • Maintain accurate student records and grading information
    • Implement and enforce laboratory safety procedures and protocols
    • Integrate technology and hands-on learning opportunities into instruction
    • Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum development and student achievement
    • Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and school activities as required
     
    Qualifications
    • Valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate science endorsement
    • Must possess a Michigan Teaching Certificate with appropriate science endorsements
    • Bachelor’s degree in science education or related field
    • Applicants must have the ability to teach chemistry and physics.
    • Applicants must meet the standards of a highly qualified teacher.
    • Possess positive interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Possess knowledge of differentiated instruction practices and strategies.
    • Possess strong classroom management skills.
